Eddie, first post said no fire on plugs, second said fire on plugs- whichnis it? Ifnyou have anfailing ignition coil, a plug will firemin free space, but not under pressure of the combustion chamber. Try new coil......

As I understand now- ignition is not an issue. So, with 45psi in fuel rail, the only item between the injector output and the fuel rail is the electronic control module or ECM. The ECM is a computer circuit that monitors air flow, gas peddle position, engine temperature, etc. It is fused ( first place to check). If is getting power, then a component in the ECM may have failed...and it will need to be replaced. You can check local junk yards -or bit the big one and buy a new one. Autopartswarehouse.com has a replacement for your car for 85 dollars.

My '99 chevy truck with 5,7L 350 will start but wont stay running. put new fuel pump and relay switch in

First you must determine if the fuel is stopping or the spark is stopping..If the fuel is stopping this could be a computer problem.. If the spark is stopping then it could be the IGN Module in the distributer. or any nomber of sensors. Squirt a little fuel directly into the Throttle body on the intake manifold.. If the truck runs longer its probably loss of fuel.. Do this several times to make sure, be careful and only use a small amounty of fuel.. you do not want a fire.. RE: Spark: Take a plug wire and an old plug..put the wire on the plug.. hold the plug against a good ground .. have someone crank the engine .. does the plug stop firing? The engine dies.. and will not restart for a minuet or so.. during this "no start" time do the plug test. If the plug will not fire during this time take the module out and take it to Orillys Auto parts.. They can test it.. really expensive part. Don't replace until you know it is BAD..

Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 2008 cobalt?

Look at your fuel rale. At the end of the fule rale is where the fuel pressure reg, is located. It should have a vacuume hose it it also. It should be about 2 inches round and about and inch thick.

Car will not start, turns over, but wil not start. It has a new battery

several things it can be. a couple things to check is to see if it has ignition fire to the spark plugs and see if it has fuel pressure.

Starts and runs then will not restart.

You may want to check the ignition module underneath the coils on the back. You usually can bring it in and test it at a local auto parts store. As far as the surging, that usually means something fuel related. Hope this helps.
