Do you mean ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT, if engine management light is on get the fault codes read and get the faults fixed, the engine management light is there for a purpose, not a Christmas tree light you know.
Who told u to replace trans?..first thing should have been done was check wiring and connections at transmission and ECM and between the 2...also need to check the pressure control solenoids B and D...its possible the ECM is acting up especially since P2716 came back twice.
If the check engine light or MIL - malfunction indicator light , or service engine soon light is on , it means there is a problem with the engine management system ! an it means it set a DTC - diagnostic trouble code in the PCM / ECM - electronic control module ! Sounds as if the engine has developed a cylinder misfire. First thing to do is access the engine control module data by using a scan tool to see what code or codes has turn the engine light on. After you retrieve the codes proceed with the diagnosis.
The car is trying to tell you something - limp mode is there to protect the engine if a serious problem is detected. Stop driving it and get someone out to scan the codes and diagnose this.
