You must remove the wiper arm to make sure the serrations on both the arm and where it mounts to are not damaged. Turn on the wipers and see if the nub that the wiper arm mounts to is moving.

If it isn't, there is a mechanism called the Wiper Transmission. It is located in the cowl at the bottom of the windshield. The device has a number of arms. The arm that connects the right side to the transmission is off. This is usually the fault of a small round plastic piece at the end of the arm. Simply putting it back on is nit recommended because it will probably fall off again. This plastic piece is attainable at most good auto parts places.

SOURCE: passenger side wiper quit working

I had this exact problem. You will need a new linkage assembly. One of the arms has broken off. If I recall, it wasnt cheap. Good luck.

SOURCE: Passenger side windshield wiper stopped working.

You will need to take the cowl off and replace all of the bushings. Most auto parts stores will have them in stock.

Wiper arm driver Side windshield does not move can move by hand but not when motor is on. Passenger side is fine and works it does not appear to be able to be removed very Easily

If drivers wiper arm will not move by motor operation and can be easily moved by hand ( with wiper on or off ) suspect disconnected/broken linkage. If wiper arm will not move by motor and takes effort ( With wiper on ) by hand... suspect seized wiper pivot

One windshield wiper not working

Maybe the nut that hold the wiper to the linkage is either loose or stripped? The linkage itself is bad?

I think your wiper motor is fine because the passenger side works and uses the same motor to move the wipers.

Passenger Windshield Wiper Not Working

If it were the motor neither side would move. Chances are its the linkage.
You'll probably need to remove the panel under the windshield to access the linkage and check it out.

1999 plymouth voyager van windshield wipers

Either the wiper arms are loose or stripped on the pivots or the wiper linkage is broken. Try tightening the arm to pivot bolt. If that doesn't work, remove the plastic cowling and examine the linkage. You can buy new linkage for it.

You will need to find where in the linkage the problem is. I would start taking it apart to see what is and what isn't working correctly. Autozone website has free repair manuals available online.

The windshield wiper driver side does not move. Passenger side does. How do I get to it?

The wiper motor must be directly linked to the passenger side wiper, and the driver side wiper gets its action from the passenger motion. probably the linkage from passenger wiper to the driver side wiper must be the problem. Under the dashboard you can check it, the linkage must be snapped off. (safety first)

2006 hhr passenger side windshield wiper not moving but drivers side is fine??

First remove the complete passenger side wiper check and make sure splines on wiper are not stripped. If this is not the problem It could be a linkage bar from the wiper motor to the wiper off or disconected. Since both wipers share the same motor if one works the other should. Check this by removing both wipers and then "Cawl" (little black piece between the hood and windshield underneath the wipers) Underneath the cawl you should be able to see the windshield wiper motor, and linkage bar to both of the wipers. See if the bar is disconected from the passenger side. If it is than reconnect it. These are the only two possible scenarios.
