Sounds like you are not getting any gas to the carb. Turn the key one click with radio off but don't try to start the car and listen for a humming sound coming from the rear of the car (gas tank area). You are listening to hear for the fuel pump. If you don't hear any humming then either the fuel pump relay is shot (cheapest fix) or the fuel pump is shot.
Unfortunate all that is available for transmissions for the 1995 and 1996 aurora are the 1995 and 1996 year! The transmissions fron any other year are not compatible or interchangable on the 95-96 years!
