2003 BMW 525i--could an improper jump start blow a fuse?

I jump started my 2003 BMW 525i at the battery, then bought a new battery to replace the old. Now the old battery is not charging. The red battery indicator does not go out. Could it be a blown fuse from the improper jumping of the battery?

Junp starting a bmw can damage many other components like ecm and alternator.

Dodge Neon says fuse on the panel and the battery won't stay charged and wont start and least jump off but when but when you take the jumping cables off it turns off

Never jump start with another vehicle. always use a jump box. If that battery is more than 3 years old replace it. A bad battery will damage the alternator (full field condition). Check all the fuses. Un plug the brake light switch to see if brake lights go out. If they go out replace the switch, make sure the switch is adjusted correctly . It is located under the dash at the brake pedal arm, the plug will have 2 wires in the plug.

Why was the battery missing to begin with? I would start by checking all fuses under dash and Central hub. Check for burned in-line fuses,if any, coming off of battery cables.

excessive power loss due to alternator bad..take to parts store so they can check it..diode trio is bad letting power back thru the alternator..basically it wont shut off now and will kill the battery after several hours..

I have seen issues like this on other Honda's and the problem turned out to be the ignition starter switch. Do this, jumper power directly to the starter solenoid trigger wire and see if the engine cranks.
