It will need to be scanned by a shop. Most common problem is the passenger occupancy seat mat.

SOURCE: my 2003 745i has airbag and seatbelt lights on

It could well be a voltage problem. An occasional dip or spike in voltage can cause all kinds of problems with BMW electrical systems.
I would get a voltmeter and try monitoring the voltage at my lighter outlet while I drove around for a day or two, You should make sure that the battery terminals are clean, and you should clean the main grounds at the battery and under the hood (hard to find) and check the ground strap that grounds the engine to the body. The ground strap is likely is next to an engine mount.

There are wires under the carpet, you might have pinched one re-installing the seat. I have seen this happen with shifter cables also.

Cavalier, how to disconect airbag light.

The airbag light is there for the purpose of warning you that your airbag system and your seatbelt pretensioners WILL NOT WORK in the event of an accident. The correct way to get the airbag light to go out and quit bothering you is to diagnose the malfunction with your supplemental restraint system and properly repair it.

To tell you how to "disconnect" or "disable" this warning system light would be taking your life into my hands with my advice. Sorry, I cannot do that. My advise is to get it properly diagnosed and repaired by a qualified service technician.

Hello, I am having the same problem, But the dealer told me that most often a water bottle goes under the seat and when people pull it out they unplug the airbag, you may want to look at this first. resetting the sensors would be next, I am looking for that next.
