Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the air cleaner housing. Tie the hood back so it's open as far as it will go without breaking the wipers or windshield. Leave the main power cable attached to the starter to assist in lifting. Unplug the small wire from the starter carefully. It's easier to go in from the top. Take out the bottom bolt first. Don't lose the shim plate. Be careful of the temperature sensor as you lift it out. That's all I got; I hope it helps.

You have remove Catalytic Converter and Engine mountes to get to the Starter.
This is the procedure

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the catalytic converter (3) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust\Exhaust System\Catalytic Converter\Service and Repair\Catalytic Converter - Removal.
  3. Remove the front engine mount through bolt.
  4. Remove the retainers (2) from the front engine mount bracket (1) and remove the bracket.
  5. Remove the field generator connector (1).
  6. Remove the B+ retainer (2) and B+ cable (3).
  7. Remove the stater retainers (1).
  8. Remove the starter (2).

starters are located just above the transmission. after finding the starter, remove the wirings that is connected to the starter. then simply unscrew the bolts in the starter. normally, there are only 2 bolts in the starter to remove.

How do you remove the starter solenoid

you need to disconnect the battery . Remove the starter from the car there may be a plastic cover on the transmission that cover the stater bolts . after you have remove the starter there are two bolts holding the solenoid to the starter. Just some advice if you go to the trouble to remove the starter just replace it as a whole assembly . its takes a little work to get the starter out and would hate to see a starter motor problem along with a solenoid problem

Starter

remove 13 mm nut holding batt cable to starter. remove single wire starter solenoid connector. remove 2 15mm bolts holding starter to bellhousing and remove. starter shim is marked "up" so you can't get it back in wrong.
