Repair Audi s3 2002 model 1,8 Quattro

I was conned cause I never even had the car for 24hrs so it broke.the water was coming out everywhere and it drove like a price of scrap.my mechanic told me the cylinder head is leaking tremendously & needs replacing so my question is what could have caused this and should I just replace the cylinder head or should I have the entire engine overhauled? I await your reply eagerly thanks

If the cylinder head is the problem just replace it, but the leaking could just be from faulty head gasket you dont need it overhauled, all it needs to be done is take the cylinder head out put new head gasket

SOURCE: Engine Warning light on rover 75

hi after reading your problem i gather the water pump blew you lost water the car overheated you say it had a brand new cylinder head and the cars still losing water and causing it to overheat and the garage say its the same problem as before yet they won,t do the job because it needs a bottom end ;engine block] so why when they had the head off was this not checked for level and signs of cracking . to be fair to the garage it something that is often overlooked . but that said if this is the problem that occured after three days of buying you are entitled to have the work gaurenteed for 12 months unless otherwise stated i can see there warrenty company won,t want to pay for it as they already paid the garage to do the job [CORRECTLY] the garage had no right to sell a faulty car in the first place and secondly they have been paid by your warrenty company to repair it it is not the warrentys companys fault the garage didnt do what was required in the first place but its not yours either so i would read what your warrenty agreement is and see if it states they won,t pay twice for the same job if not phone them up tell them the only reason you bought the car is because of the warrenty and it is not your fault the job was done properly in the first place and expect the car to be repaired as it should have been in the first place and its up to them and the garage to decide which one of them pays tell them what the garage mechanic said about its allright to drive and i have no idea what book tells you to ignore warning lights but should be shot then go to the garage tell them you want it putting right and you don,t care wheather its under warrenty or the garages oblgation not sell defective vechicles it is up to the garage to put it right or give you your money back if the problem arises within a reasonable amount of time usually seven days tell them to put it in writing if they refuse to do the job if they refuse get a wittness to this and tell them it needs puting right and will be taking to another garage getting it repaired and am giving you the first chance to repair it as stated in law then the bill will forwarded to them an have you took finance out on it or did you pay cash if finance phone them up tell them the problems your having and are going to stop payments until the car is fixed REMEMBER THE GARAGE DEPENDS ON THE FINANCE AND WARRENTY COMPANYS THEY WILL NOT WANT TROUBLE FROM THEM BECAUSE THEY WITH DRAW THERE BACKING THE GARAGE WON,T SELL THER CARS HENCE OUT OF WORK i bet your a newcastle supporter as well with this kind of luck if you let them get away with it your as daft as a brush find out where to report the garage i think it is the office of fair trading and if they won,t bend i will be amazed yates210456

SOURCE: 2001 audi a4 CEL came on

I would start with the cylinder 4 spark plug and make sure it look good and is firing correctly.  After that I would look either at the final coil, ignition module and then o2 sensor.  These problems are so hard to diagnose and are trial and error so much of the time.

SOURCE: 1989 jaguar xj6 new engine or new cylinder???

At that price replace the engine. Make sure though that you get a warranty for the engine that includes the cost of installation if the new one fails. Most shops will warranty for 90 days which is long enough to find out if there is going to be a problem.

SOURCE: Code P0118 on Audi A4 - Related to Ignition Coil Problem?

Hi, the sensor on the engine (right at the rear end of the cylinder head) has two separate outputs. One drives the temperature gauge and the other provides data for the engine control unit. The output for the engine control unit is almost certainly faulty and the sensor will need to be replaced. It isn't an expensive item and's not time consuming to replace (1/2 hr) - so you could ask Audi to do it for you when they replace the ignition coils.
Hope that helps Matt..

Audi a6 quattro 2.8 coolant leak

First of all, are you sure it is a coolant leak and not the natural draining of the Air Con., a leak on piping to or from the washers, condensation from the exhaust etc.?
Does the coolant level drop significantly and if so, how much and over what period?
Can you collect in a tray the liquid that is leaking? What does it look and smell like and what colour is it?
Does it leak with the air con disconnected?
Does the heater work properly?
When you say that it is leaking 'right under the middle', I presume you mean the middle of the car. If you park over a newspaper, where does the drip end up (which might not necessarily be immediately below the leak)?

My audi a4 quattro sport has just started to have air con problems. It is still work but it appears to be leeking water in to the passenger footwell what could this be?

if the leaking is under the car that is normal that is just condensation if it is inside the car under the dash then it is the heater core the core is behind the dashboard

Support Bracket power steering AUDI 1998 2.8

Any comparable car should work. Your car is a 98, so you would have to stick with Audi/VW cars that have the 30v V6 (98-01.5). The 97 and earlier years used an older 12v V6 and those aren't compatible. It's unlikely that the 1.8T models would work either. You'd have to look for A4, A6, and Passat cars in the model range I mentioned, and you may find that if you have a quattro model, your replacement would have to come from a quattro (Audi) or 4motion (VW) car as well. Try to find a donor car with your same drivetrain (30v V6, auto/stick - whichever you have, and 2wd/4wd, whichever you have).

To tell at a glance which engine is which, the 30v has black covers on the valve covers that say "5V" (for five valves per cylinder). The older 12v cars I believe actually say "12v" on them.
