1) have you checked which transmission fluid its using and the grade of the fluid?
2) open the bonnet and look for the second dipstick, usually placed next to the gearbox and get the levels.
3) you can add more (ATF) transmission fluid or drain the current fluid and put a new fluid.

95dodge car drove fine one day the next day won't

May be in first gear or may be in "limp mode" where it is actually in 2nd gear and won't shift to any other forward gear. This happens when the transmission has a "BAD" problem. Better get it checked.

96 explorer disengages 4wh low but does not engage 2wheel

Does it shift to 4wd high range ? If so then shift to 2wd . What is going on here is the transfer case motor is stopping due to the motor position sensor has gone bad which means that you replace the transfer case motor assembly. But if you wish to make it a 2wd for awhile then remove motor and manually turn shaft . This can be done by raising and supporting rear axle truck in park remove motor turn shaft slowly with pliers and rotating the play in drive shaft. There are stamped markings on back of case showing gear positions..

Vehicle not shifting

Have you retrained the gear? From memory think goes motor running foot firmly on brake park to neutral three times, neutral to reserve three times, neutral to drive three times, keep going thru all gears Then drive car normal for ten minutes minium as you usually would.

I have 91 ford explorer and the transmission was not slipping. I parked it one day and it no longer shifts into gear. This is an automatic. Could the drive shaft be out or does this sound like a shift...

First thing check your fluid level, its low enough it won't go into gear and if its full, then check your shift linkage, it should be cable and it may have broke and last if the cable and fluid are good, check the shifter column thats attached to the steering column if its loose or worn out it could prevent it from going into gear.

pull the shifter out of the top of the transmission and try to move the shift rails to nuetral, if thy won't move u must have an internal broken part jamming the shift trails.
