I have a 2000 dodge neon with automatic transmission. When I put it in gear it hesitates to take gear. When it does take gear has a grinding noise from the front right wheel.

sounds like you have a throw out bearing out. Put in neautral and depress pedal while idleing if noise starts its throw out bearing in clutch if noise is there when clutch is out in neautral its probly front trans bearing either involves removeing transmission and replaceing clutch assy or front bearing
