My truck shuts of after idle for 20 minutes then when it cools i can start it again. But once its warm it shuts off again ive checked the coil its fine i knoe it may be the ignitor. But what else would cause it to just shut off?
What about your fuel pump? when it get hot it stops and when it gets cool works. It is better as soon as you do have the engine shut off when is hot,try to check if any fuel is coming from the fuel tank to the engine if it doesn't the renew the fuel pump. Also my advise is to ask your mechanic as an expert he does have the special equipment to check the fuel pressure flow to the injection system,or if it is your vehicle fitted with carburettor to check the mechanical fuel pump whether it does send fuel at all.
Good luck.

When the engine is running ragged, place your hand over the opening of the carburator. If the idle smooths out, you have a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake system; it could be the base gasket for the carb, the intake manifold gasket, or a broken vacuum line, or a combination of that. What you have is too much air getting into the engine, but the air is not going thru the carb. Please check for vacuum leaks, you can use a can of carb cleaner, spray the intake manifold, if the idle smooths up, that would be a good place to start.

Hello;
It sounds as if you have a couple of possible problems. First could be the fuel pump. If yoou disconnect the fuel line, put the line in a jar and crank the engine over, you should get a pint in 15 seconds or so. Also check the pressure, should have around 5 psi. Secondly, you may have a vacuum hose cracked, broken, or leaking. Check your hoses and also the carbureator for leaks.
Hope this helps;
Thanks;

After it dies, then you restart, does it run fine for about 30 sec, and then go to ****?

First, try a new accelerator pump. They're less than $10 and easy to install. On the side of the carburator, near the linkage. It's simple a small rubber diaphragm.

in your carburetor there is a priming passage. look in there with the air cleaner out and pump the butterfly it should squirt gas. if it doesn't then you need to open the top part of the carb and clean the hole with a hair clip. if this is not the problem it will be the choke but I'm 70 percent that this is the problem.
