Take out the fuel pump fuse. Crank it over till it starts without it. Put the fuse back in and crank on it again. I had to put a battery charger on my car. It works great, but a little hard on the starter.

Verify condition by spraying some starter fuel in it.it should start and die if its a fuel problem.
if it still does nothing start checking any and all fuses.if all the fuses are good take out a spark plug and verify no spark.
if no spark check the ignition module.
it might be able to have it checked at autozone for free.but you will have to remove it.

The problem is the engine is flooded. common problem on the RX-8 there is an updated strarter that cranks faster so it's easier to deflood, and there is update pcm programming to inject more oil into the engine to help.

1. remove the engine injector fuse under the hood 15amp blue (eng inj)
2. put a battery charger on it full power start.
3. when the battery is charged with foot on gas to the floor crank it and don't stop untill it slows down.
4. listen for a sound change. when it's flooded the sound will be high pitched fast turning.
when it's starts to get compression you will hear it start to puff puff puff puff.
5. repeat the charging and cranking at least 5 times.
6. you can also remove the spark plugs dry them of fuel (torch is best)
7. add some oil into the spark plug holes.
8. crank again with the spark plugs out.
9. now reinstall the plugs and injector fuse.
10. disconnect the air pump (left rear corner of the engine in front of the washer pump red and black connector).
11. wait for the charger to fully charge. start car with no gas pedal.
repeat if neccecary.

if you hold gas pedal to floor while cranking, it shuts off the fuel supply to clear a flooded engine. Try it & report

1994 grand cherokee gives me a hard time starting in the morning no feul in rail ill crank and crank then ill hear the pump turn on and shell start up no drive problems it drive fine only when i try to...

Fuel pump is bleeding back so it isn't holding pressure in the lines. So when it sits long enough it is hard to start. Try turning the key on and then off wait 15 secs or so and turn key on and then off again do this one more time and see if starts. If so then you will need to replace the fuel pump in the tank soon.
