Rough idle when starting vehicle, it acts like it wants to stall after a few minutes at idle. It spits and shutters, then it revs itself up and runs great. This happens every time it is restarted. If I drive it before it goes thru this process it will try to stall and losses power on road for a few seconds before it revs itself up and runs normal. Have tried additives for carbon build up and have changed the TPS, no fix.

My son has this same car with the same problem. So far after tune up and other process of illimination, the problem points to the catalytic converter. If it is clogged you will get this problem with the rough idle and stalling. Look under the car at night after running it and see if the catalytic glows red. If so you need a new one. Hope this helps.

Code eo52 indicates that the "long term" memory in the ecm has been reset. You will get this code when power is removed from the ecm. B448 is low refrigerant pressure. B552 indicates that the keep alive or "long term'' memory in the bcm has been reset ans a result of power being removed forom the bcm. What is a TPC? The throttle position sensor should be set at -1.0 to +1.0. at lowest position by the ICS motor. The throttle position sensor should be set at 10.5 to11.5 when the ICS motor is at its maximum extension. This is done by the ICS plunger adjustment is at its lowest point. . A mis adjusted TPS sensor will result in a great loss of fuel mileage. It appears the converter is stopped up on yours.

Did you have battery disconnected or dead recently?

Try to place ignition in run without starting engine for 3 minutes (shut off all accessories and lights etc..). Then shut it off and then start it. Should relearn the idle.

If this doesn't fix the problem, unplug the MAF sensor, if it runs fine with it unplugged, its the MAF sensor.

Exactly what happened on my wife's 01'.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the same issue on 2,4,6. I have replaced the coils. checked the intake for vacuum leaks. I am lost here let me know if you find anything and I will do the same.
