You a short to ground on the electrical circuit ! You need to find out what all is on that circuit ! Which fuse ? # fuse how many amp .
I see to fuse that supply B+ power to ignition switch , located in the under hood fuse box ! a 25 amp & a 50 amp . There are videos on youtube on short detection .
I think what you have going on here is a failing electric fuel pump, this is what they do when they are worn out, it is a rotary pump and the rotor sticks due to worn bearings. To confirm this get a can of spray starting fluid from any auto parts store, next time it won't start spray it into the air intake hose to the engine, if it fires right up you have a bad pump. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, remember to also replace the fuel filter when the pump is replaced. Also check the connector to the fuel pump cutoff safety switch for signs of melting, replace the switch and connector as needed, this is caused by a defective fuel pump drawing excessive current.
Usually all you have to do to find the Thermostat is follow the top radiator hose back to the engine block and it connects directly to the thermostat housing. Two bolts scrape everything clean, install new part put on gasket and put it back together.
For 1993 Lincoln Town Car 4.6L EFI 8cyl the Thermostat is located: under hood, center, upper engine area, engine end of upper radiator hose, mounted in coolant outlet housing.
Faulty ignition wire? or coil start with ignition wires!!look them over when these fail usually internally they fail you can not see it because it is internal! is it cold where are you located what state or provence are you in.
2 things come to mind check the negative terminal of battery and the ground wire connected to engine location varies where they connect these but will always originate from neg on battery a quick check to see if you have a proper ground connection is to take one booster cable and connect to neg post on battery and connect the other end to the engine on clean metal (be sure to keep clear of moving parts ) start engine and see if you have pressure on gage if so you must clean ground connection to engine .if this does not correct possible bad sending unit in side of block with one wire connected to it . caution ** temperature sending unit look similar so make sure with one you are taking out
