THE PURGE SOLANOID IS ON THE ENGINE WITH A RED CONNECTOR ON IT. IT IS LOCATED ON THE REAR OF THE ENGINE ABOVE THE REAR VALVECOVER. YOU ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR THE CANISTER VENT SOLANOID AND IT IS IN THE REAR OF THE CAR AND THEY FAIL OFTEN. GET THE PART FROM G.M. AND THEY CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHERE IT IS. THE G.M. PART IS UNDER $30.00.

Where is purge evac solenoid on 08 kia sportage

In the 2008 Kia Sportage, the purge evacuation (EVAP) solenoid is typically located near the charcoal canister. The exact location may vary slightly depending on the specific engine configuration and optional equipment, but here is a general guideline:
  1. Locate the Charcoal Canister: The charcoal canister is a component of the EVAP system and is responsible for storing fuel vapors. It is usually located in the rear of the vehicle, near the fuel tank or in the engine compartment. The canister is a cylindrical or rectangular-shaped container.
  2. Find the EVAP Solenoid: Once you have located the charcoal canister, look for a smaller component connected to it. This component is the purge evacuation (EVAP) solenoid. It is typically a small plastic or metal device with electrical connectors and vacuum hoses.
  3. Follow the Hoses and Wires: Trace the vacuum hoses and electrical wires connected to the charcoal canister to locate the EVAP solenoid. The solenoid may be connected directly to the canister or positioned nearby.
Please note that the exact location of the EVAP solenoid may vary slightly depending on the specific engine and emission system layout of your 2008 Kia Sportage. Consulting the vehicle's service manual or contacting a Kia dealership may provide more accurate and detailed information tailored to your specific model.
It's important to exercise caution when working with the EVAP system and its components, as they are part of the vehicle's emission control system. If you are unsure or uncomfortable performing the task yourself, it's recommended to seek assistance from a qualified technician or a reputable automotive service center. They have the expertise and tools to locate and service the EVAP solenoid properly.

Where is the purge valve located on the fuel rail on a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport

The purge solenoid is part of the evaporative (EVAP) emissions system which handles fuel vapors. The fuel rail is part of the fuel supply system which handles liquid fuel. Therefore, the purge solenoid will not be located on the fuel rail. Service information for the 2000 Montero Sport 3.0L/3.5L shows that the purge solenoid is located at the center/rear of the engine compartment near the throttle body. It has two black rubber hoses; one which connects to a port on the intake manifold and the other to the EVAP canister. It also has one electrical connector with two wires; one yellow/black wire and one red wire. You can read about how to replace the EVAP system purge solenoid here: https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-replace-a-canister-purge-solenoid-by-timothy-charlet

What code is po443

ossible causes
- Faulty Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid Control
- Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid Control harness is open or shorted
- Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Purge Solenoid Control circuit poor electrical connection
help.jpg What does this mean?
When is the code detected?
An improper voltage signal is sent to Engine Control Module (ECM) through the valve.
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
P0443 Description
The Evaporative Emission System (EVAP) canister purge volume control solenoid valve uses a ON/OFF duty to control the flow rate of fuel vapor from the EVAP canister. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is moved by ON/OFF pulses from the Engine Control Module (ECM). The longer the ON pulse, the greater the amount of fuel vapor that will flow through the valve.

Code says evaporator purge solenoid

Which code specifically? Do not assume you need a new solenoid. Our recommendation will depend on the specific code and some troubleshooting results. I usually recommend checking over all the EVAP vacuum lines and the gas cap too whenever there is a purge valve code. Check the vacuum lines at the cannister in the left rear bumper. I will paste info on the purge solenoid below.

Evaporative Emission Purge Solenoid

Description & Operation
The duty cycle EVAP canister purge solenoid (DCP) regulates the rate of vapor flow from the EVAP canister to the intake manifold. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) operates the solenoid.
During the cold start warm-up period and the hot start time delay, the PCM does not energize the solenoid. When de-energized, no vapors are purged. The PCM de-energizes the solenoid during open loop operation.
The engine enters closed loop operation after it reaches a specified temperature and the time delay ends. During closed loop operation, the PCM cycles (energizes and de-energizes) the solenoid 5 or 10 times per second, depending upon operating conditions. The PCM varies the vapor flow rate by changing solenoid pulse width. Pulse width is the amount of time that the solenoid is energized. The PCM adjusts solenoid pulse width based on engine operating condition.
Removal & Installation
The duty cycle evaporative (EVAP) canister purge solenoid is located in the engine compartment near the brake master cylinder.

  1. Disconnect electrical connector at solenoid.
  2. Disconnect vacuum lines at solenoid.
  3. Lift solenoid slot from mounting bracket for Removal & Installation.

To Install:
  1. Position solenoid slot to mounting bracket.
  2. Connect vacuum lines to solenoid. Be sure vacuum lines are firmly connected and not leaking or damaged. If leaking, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set with certain emission packages.
  3. Connect electrical connector to solenoid.
