SOURCE: VW PASSAT BRAKE COST!

ROTORS WILL RUN ABOUT $60-80 PER ROTOR. PREMIUM PADS RUN ABOUT $40-70 PER PAD. PLUS ABOUT 3-4 HOURS OR SHOP TIME AT AN AVERAGE OF $60-70 PER HOUR

I DO SUGGEST CALLING 3-4 OTHER SHOPS NEAR YOUR AREA AND GET AN ESTIMATE FROM THEM AS WELL.

SOURCE: VW Passat STOP brake fault warning

Check the fluid level in the resevoir. If it is low then top it up. However, it went low for a reason - maybe it's just because your brake pads starting to wear out or you could possibly have a brake fluid leak.

If your in any doubt have a pro check it out.

I have a passat 2006 fsi. The Parking breaks wont release after pressing the release button

I had the same problem on my Passat Variant 2007.
Randomly Park Brake won't activate and/or deactivate once button PB pressed.
The cockpit computer tells "Park Brake Error" (or something similar).
If this is your problem, the issue is very well known to VW Service centers.
I had solved it by bringing the car to the Service: The told me that they substituted the ParkBrake Button (a differently made one, even if identical on the exterior) and Reprogramming (Updating) the car computer software.

Tire pressure for passat 2002

It is not so much the tire pressure for a Passat, 2002 as it is the tire pressure for a tire on the Passat 2002.

Only certain tires will fit on a Passat and VW knows this when they put the information on the door pillar, driver side in most 'editions' of the Passat. Same is said about what they printed in the owner manual and also the sticker that may be in your glove compartment.

All this information provided by VW is based on the tire that fits the Passat. The tire will have all the information you require molded into the side wall of the tire: recommended pressure, load range, temperature range and more. Look closely at the tire for this and lots more infomation including tire construction type, material and size.

I have a 2006 VW passat and electronic power steering

If you put it on a code reader it will likely say this, 44-Steering Assist -- Status: Malfunction 0010 if you delete the code it may get it working, if not the sensor is inside the steering rack so would need another rack, Jacking it up may have just upset the sensor so clearing the fault code may work...

Water coming in drivers mat area 2006 vw passat 2.0 tdi

Hi

Common fault with VW's firstly check the door seal at the bottom and make sure it is not wet inside.

Next place is under the bonnet, just under the windscreen below the wipers you will see a long tray the "skuttle panel" leafs and muck build up in here where the drain plugs are once they get blocked the water starts coming in the car from behind the dash board. You should be able to see the problem visibly and it should be easy to clean.

I had this on a golf about 2mths ago, and a polo a while ago and also on a few passats.

Why does 2001 Passat brake fault with STOP and ABS and brake light flashing come on?

There are a few other more likely possibilities....
One of the wheel sensors or magnet wheels in the hub are bad. These are easy to remove behind each wheel hub, and inspect for damage. In the hub is a wheel with slots/magnets. Check for any damage then clean and apply a little bearing grease to the sensor.
You issue is most likely the same as every other VW owner... the ABS module failed. Fortunately, I can help you. For less than $200 www.modulemaster.com will fix it for you like new with a 5 year warranty. It is very easy to remove, and does not require any brake line disconnections. Full instructions on the web site. It reccommends removal of the driver side front tire, and you should to make it much easier.
Consider getting yourself a VAG scan tool for $50. It will read all the codes for your car, even the ABS, and reset them. It takes the guess work out, and you can get right to the problem.
Good Luck.

Third brake light fuse number for 2006 vw passat

There is no fuse for the third brake light that I know of, it is wired into the main brake light wiring on most cars anyway. Probably the bulb is blown.

I recently parked my 2006 Passat on a hill using the electronic parking button. I was away for about 15 minutes and as I was walking back the car ran down a hill and smashed into a bus shelter. So it took...

I am in no way an expert, but I would bet its a loose parking brake. I hate the electronic button, you never know how hard the parking brake is applied. I had a similar problem when my Jetta wound up parking itself in the middle of my street (my house is on a short hill) about 20 minutes after I parked it. Went in and had the cable tightened. Worked like a charm.

Brake Problem on 2004 VW Passat

You have to get CV Boots replaced, this happens because they split. What happen was something got stuck inside the axel where the little boots is held on and split that little piece of rubber (its easy to do). As a result, fluid leaks and and spashes on the back tires so you never know it happens. When you make turns the car will make a clicking noise. You can add fluid but, it will continue to leak out if those boots are split so, you have to replace the boots. I had to replace the boots and axel because the boots come on the axel. Its an expensive project. Boots, axel and labor $500 starting if you go through the dealer. Also, if you have an extended warranty they won't cover it because there is no time frame when these boots split it just something that can happen. Honestly, they know this is something common especially if you drive through snow.
