Driver side window doesnt work

Firstly, you probably bought the wrong new switch. As for the window not working, the window regulator has been known to be a problem. If it was that, you would hear the motor running or trying to run. I would say that since the driver window is the one most used and if you do not hear the motor running, it is probably the lift motor. You still would have to check it because there are other components involved. No matter what, you are going to have to remove the door panel.

Bad connection in the wires or faulty window switch .
I replaced my regulator ,thats all the items that lift the glass up .Only to find i had a bad connection . You need to check the power to the motor that lifts the window glass up first . If the 12 volts are there then motor is shot . If motor turns and window is not operating the drive is gear worn .

sound like a bad switch the operation goes threw both switches for operation

How to Replace a Window Regulator (with Motor)
(DIY Complexity: Moderate / DIY Time: 2.8 hours)

Parts:

Tools:
1. Screwdriver
2. Trim Panel Removal Tool
3. 3/8 in. Drive Ratchet
4. Socket Set
5. Riveter Kit

Steps:
Step 1 Remove the door panel by removing the handles and switches. It is required to unscrew or unclip the panel.
o Tip: Safety Tip:Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or safety shoes.
o Tip: Refer to the vehicle specific service manual if available. There are several fragile plastic clips and hidden screws on the door panel that will break if removed improperly.

Step 2 Remove the vapor barrier.

Step 3 Disconnect the glass from window regulator.

Step 4 Tape the glass to door frame. The glass should not require removal.
o Tip: Tape the glass out of the way to allow access to the window regulator and window lift motor assembly.

Step 5 Disconnect the electrical connector from the window motor.

Step 6 Remove the window regulator mounting bolts. Slide the regulator assembly out through the interior access opening of the door. Remove the motor.

Step 7 Attach the original motor to the new window regulator and install the regulator assembly. Tighten the mounting bolts.

Step 8 Reconnect the electrical connector to the window motor.

Step 9 Install the window back onto the window regulator.

Step 10 Re-install the vapor barrier.

Step 11 Re-install the door trim panel and handles/switches.

Step 12 Test the power window for proper operation by rolling the window up and down in complete cycles for proper testing.
o Tip: After re-installing a window lift motor and regulator, it may be necessary to re-program it following manufacturer specific instructions. Not following or performing this step may result in improper power window function.

First find out if the motor is working by listening to it when the switch is activated. If the motor IS working then there is a problem with the mechanism. This can only be repaired with the door panel removed. If the motor isn't working check the switch, and the power TO the motor, (panel off) try the motor with a seperate power supply. If the motor IS working, then you'll have to determine by looking to see why it isn't lifting the window glass.

probly need to take the door apart and see whats keeping it from rolling up. If the motor went bad theres your problem but if a clip or something broke loose and fell it may have wedged itself in the lifting mechanism

The driver side window switch is the master switch, the power or input to either roll the window up or down goes thru that switch. Double check all the connections on the back of the driver side window switch are good. With a DVOM you can also check to see if 12v are even getting to the master switch in the first place. If you aren't even getting power to the main power window switch you could've blown the power window fuse.

the window lift motor has failed, remove the door panel and replace the window motor.

the window regulator is made to lift up and down the window continuously for a number of years, some last forever and some dont. he motor still works but cant draw the correct power source from the batteryy to lift the window as the motor is working at half the strength as the motor wll be slowly burning out. it wont work even if you replace any fuces or switches. you can pick up a secondhand regulator froma wreckers and easily fit it at low cost. some will fit it for you for a small price.

make sure that you are getting voltage to the motor check the main switch on the drivers side control. all the voltage for the rest of the windows has to pass through the driver side control switch
