I came home from work and my 2005 chevy cavalier, that was sitting in the driveway all day, had the parking lights on. The only way I could turn them off was to remove the ign. fuse under the hood. I've tried moving the switch for the lights to every single position (off, park, headlights) and they all work fine, except the park lights stay on even when in the off position. How can I fix this so they turn off when they are supposed to?

I READ ONLINE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS YEAR AND MAKE, CHECK WITH TOYOTA WEB SITES TO RECTIFY YOUR PROBLEM
SOURCE: No parking lights, fuse keeps blowing.
There is a ground not connected or a wire open that is causing it to blow
SOURCE: headlights wont come on, but parking lights work...i dont get it
Was sent in by another poster, just posting his results which fixed mine. Problem was relay $50.00 at GM only.
Check the relay module. 45 or 46. on the engine relay block. you can
swap the two they are the same part number, then you will know. Dont
start the engine, just check the lights. If it works replace the relay
module. You may have to order the part from the parts store. Or go to
the dealer to get it.
SOURCE: Blows fuses when parking lights are turned on. Headlights work fine even running lights.
If it only happens when you turn the switchto the parking lights then it is most likely the swich that is the problem. Light swich failure appears to be a common fault with fords

If it is floor shift it has a soloind under the cover not to hard to remove, you have to memove the whole thing bolt in front cupholder and inside armrest storage. once it has removed there is a soloind in there that mounts on the shifter. this goes bad alot. Push the button on the silver soloind button this will release it into gear. Hope this helps. ( Usually he black soloind goes bad)
