Ok, I have a 1992 camry toyota and I'm just wondering what the O/D button is for. When the button is up, the O/D light comes on on the dashboard saying O/D off. But do I want it on? I heard it made cars bad on gas. Is that true?

Re:
OD is overdrive, if u push the button u turn it (OD) off, it resets everytime the car is shut off, u would turn off OD in the mountains or when towing.

Usually the pump in my experince. Take it somewhere where you can have thhe engine cleaned. Then take it to a shop and have them ID what is wrong. or put it up on jack stands and lay under it with a flashlight and figure out where the leak is coming from

Check the ground cable going from the battery to
alternator, then to chassis. Make sure there is no
rust at the chassis ground wire terminal, and that it
is very tight. The fusible link will be off the alternator
red power cable, usually, but not 100% on that car.
Good luck.
Battery cables off the starter ,starter relay and ignition switch. these are the remaining items in the starting system for no crank and no start.
Get Shop manual and do the appropriate testing for each.
Without the schematics for the alarm. I would look for the alarms controller /relay and remove it. Use fuse diagram in the owners manual to see whats stock and whats not if its an aftermarket alarm.
There is a fault int eh airbag system on one of the sensors or the airbag itself. You need to have this checked by a mechanic as it is possible to trigger the airbag if the test is done incorrectly.
Car must be on and brake pedal depressed to shift. If you have no brake lights then the car doesn't know the pedal is depressed and will not shift out of park. This car has an interlock overide on the shifter console, push it and it will come out of Park. You will need a brake light switch tho.
