What about your security system? Does the security lamp on the dash, flash or anything when you try to start, with key in the run position?
If you don't think the security system is the issue, then check the basics. Have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. Proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes?
I suggest you try one of those instant download manuals. My nephew bought one for me when my car broke and we could fix it all by ourselves with the manual from here. This website reliable-store.com is very good for this.

hi its rob sounds like ur battery needs changed when a battery is left to go flat the cells start to buckle each cell is two volts if u loose just one of these the battery will not hold its chardge.sometimes u can get intermited chardge were it will be ok one minute and the i will just dye the next

I have had a similar problem with my 06 Trailblazer SS. Took it to the dealer and apparently this is a common occurrence. They replaced my key cylinder and explained that this was because the cylinder was intermittently not completing the start circuit. It seemed to work after that. Now in the dead of winter I am having more starting issues with the vehicle.
