I have a 2002 Ford Taurus and it seems to be having problems when you speedup.Once you start to go between 40mph and 60mph the RPM guage to jerking around 3k & 4k.
Things I have done:
Changed spark plugs (not wires)
What do you think would make the vehicle stall out sometimes when it has problems accelerating and the RPM jumping?
It sounds like the fuel is not being delivered sufficently to the engine. Try looking here. Perhaps a fuel injecter cleaner (you can pour Seafoam into the gas tank and it is a great fuel injecter cleaner and fuel stabilizer). What did your plugs look like when you replaced them? This can tell you a lot about the combustion chamber. A Haynes manual will be invaluable to you.

I took the car to Ford Dealer and they tried to say it was the transmission but they had not checked anything (no breakdown). The computer is not kicking off any codes and I don't have a check engine light on either. I took it to my mechanic and he said it could possibly be something within the throttle area so he cleaned it for me and said drive easy for a few days and then we will see what happens.
The car has no problem picking up speed gradually like normal and the car changes gears smoothly. It only does the jerking when the car is forced (heavy foot)to drive and the RPM goes to 3100.
