First step is to make sure there is at least 55 psi coming form the fuel pump. Without the correct fuel pressure, the truck's engine will only sputter because there is not enough pressure to open the injectors.

Check the fuel pressure while its running. It sounds like the fuel filter is stopping up. Fuel filter should be changed every 50 thousand miles or so. If the filter is bad it won't be long until the fuel pump has to be replaced (located inside the fuel tank)! It's a lot easier to replace the filter before the pump is damaged!

It is gas related because it started. Check the fuel pump, pump fuse, relay, or reset button. Check your fuel filter. Make sure your gas lines are good and check your fuel injectors. Your problem is with the fuel, so you shouldn't have to worry about anything else, just the fuel components. Your engine is not getting gas. Check all these things and you will find your problem.

it sounds like you need a fule pump for your truck because you should never leave a truck sitting that long or after you leave gas sit for along time this gunk builds up and it wont let gas go through the hoses.

Check All Fuses and Relays in the power distribution center under the hood and at the fuse panel inside the truck! Let me know if you find anything burnt!

yep,that sounds like the fuel pump is getting hung up on the bearings.don't forget to put a new fuel filter on too!
you'll see the blackness of the fuel that got stuck in the filter.

check fuel pump turn the key on and listen for a buzzing sound coming from the fuel tank if not then your fuel pump is done. try hitting the bottom of the tank and seeing if that helps to get it to a garage to fix it.

check fuel pump relay, is fuel present at motor
