2010 dodge avenger battery drain

mine was doing that and it was cause of a relay in the fuse box under the hood got moisture in it and was shorting out i caught it flashing the lights once and sounding the horn like it was hoarse replaced the relay like 4.95 at autozone and it fixed the problem

Get under the dash ad look at your brake pedal lever. You will see a stop light switch that screww into a bracket with a 'button' sticking out of it. if pulling up on the brake pedal (even slightly) solves your problem, then the switch needs adjusting closer to the brake lever. If adjusting does not stop problem then replacement of brake light switch may be required.

ther is an electric solenoid in the shifter the fuse may have blown but if you have ever spilled anything sweet ,soda juice etc it will get sticky and gum up not letting it operate as designed check fuses first, if fuse is good then go to solenoid
