Hi. Some cars do leave the display for the clock and odo on. Perhaps you only just noticed. If not then check if the radio switches off when removing the key. If it does, then all is normal. If not then you have a problem wiyh the key insertion switch in the ignition switch.

SOURCE: can't remove car key

I assume that your car has an automatic transmission - If so, try holding your shift lever higher in the PARK position when you try to remove the key.

Turn car off and it's in park but the indicator light under P is lite green when doors are closed and also clock stays on. Noticed this 4 or 5 days ago and battery dead today. 1994 Previa Toyota

Likely the ignition switch is not rotating completely into the off position. If your key is extremely worn, it may be possible it can be removed without the switch exactly in the off position. Suggest trying a different (less used) key and see if problem goes away.

Else try to make sure it is in off position (clock off) before removing key. If you find that's the problem you may need new keys or switch or both.

Where is the delay relay for the clock in my 2002 jetta the clock a n odometer stay on even after i take out the key

That's always on (displaying) and the only way to shut that off is by removing an internal rechargeable battery. Even when you unplug the wire harness it will store the odometer reading although the time will be lost.

When you buy a new speedo head used or brand new, it should only have 100mi or less so you can write your original odometer readout to the replacement. Above that you can't write and eventually have to start from 101mi as your reading.
