SOURCE: Hooked battery up backwards

under th hood there is a fuse box by the battery inside of there you will find an odd looking fuse, it should be 80 amps if I remember correctly this the fuse that is probably burnt out as it is there to protect your altenator. to help locate this fuse it is usually held in with two screws, ( it is not like the ones that push in ).
hope this helps you and I hope that you will take th time to rate this response .

The main fuse 100Amp of a mazda verisa 2005, is cut can it be changed and how do you do that?

this 100 amp fuse is the main control fuse for the vehicle's electrics , go to a mazda dealer and get a new one , it should be obvious how to replace it when you see the new one, i would want to know why this fuse blew in the first place as 100 amps is hard to blow , disconnect the battery before fitting new fuse

I hooked my car battery up backwards on my 05 Toyota corolla and now it won't even try to turn over when i try to start it. The battery is not the problem.

  • When you hooked the battery up backwards you blew the 100Amp main fuse. You have two fuse boxes. One under the hood and one under the steering wheel. i recommend a look at the fuses in general. Which that 100 Amp fuse may bring some life back to the car there could be some more stuff to look at depending on how much (if) any damage was done.

Why was the battery replaced? Theres no reason the the 100 amp fuse to blow unless the alternator is shorted or you hooked up the battery backwards. I think the 100 amp fuse goes to the alternator. If it was hooked up backwards then you may have engine computer damage.

At a guess, I'd say that you have got the new battery in back to front. This means that you are hooking the earth wires to the Positive side of the battery.
