I have a 2011 malibu 2.4. I'm told the battery checks out fine at my repair shop.If I sit in the car for 15 to 30 minutes with the radio on with the key in the acc, position ,or with key of for the 10 minutes before the radio shuts, then try to start it will turn over slow after clicking noise from the dash area, then will start. T times the past week with the extreme single digit temps, here it will turn slow but then will start. I was a line mechanic for Lincoln for 10 years back in the 60s and 70s,but this one has me stumped. I priced a battery that blew my socks of at $115 from a friend in the parts business, but I'm not sure thats the problem,so if you can help me I'll save the $$$$ there. Thanks Ken.

If you find a red key flashing it means that the car has got antitheft system fitted. Is your car alarmed? What about the key, has it got a remote?

Most likely they ( the Ford dealer) cracked the heater core when they pulled the dash to fix the other problem, I worked as a Ford dealer tech for 20 years and this is entirely possible.
For poster markjschwab, the noise is the blend door motor, so your dash will need to be removed to fix that issue, be careful of the heater core or just replace it while the dash is out, they are cheap.
SOURCE: Turn key, nothing happens
It could be the park/neutral switch, next time it doesn't start try wiggling the shifter in park while turning the key, or shift to neutral and see if that will work. if that doesn't change the problem I would replace the ignition switch.

I would check the fuel pump turn key on do not start or turn engine over just until dash lights up and you should hear a grunt sound come from back seat area if you do not hear this grunt your fuel pump is not working. Also if you have a check engine light on you should have your can scaned with a OBD 2 scan tool to retreve and faults the cars computer might be undrer going.
