Probably a vacuum hose off. Have someone sit in the car that knows how to drive. Parking brake on, put in reverse and track the sound down. You can put a length of 1/4" plastic hose in your ear and use it as a stethoscope. Be VERY careful if you go behind the vehicle.

10 sec sound when selecting reverse. reverse alarm not bleeping on reversing near obstacle.

the beep is a warning of system failure the usual problem is water in the sensors, to test the sensors engage reverse with ign. on and put your ear close to each sensor in turn you should hear a faint ticking from the good sensors, nothing from the faulty ones, the wiring behind the bumper is also prone to burning on the exhaust. hope this helps.

What could the problem be with 1999 villager wont go forward or reverse?

I forget the name, but it could be the shift connecttion. It the connection point behind the shifter in the car and the transmission. The port disconnected mine in my car cause they couldn't figure out how to shift it. It basically put the car into nuetral. No forward no reverse. But engine runs fine.

Kia sedona problems

Not sure about yours but most newer 2010 and up Sedona's have backup warning signal and if yours does it sounds like it's covered with something and every time you put the vehicle in reverse it will go off.

Chrysler van won't go forward or revers

Im having the same problem as you. First thing is, If it was a valve popping it would make the noise when started not only when in reverse. Secondly, the vehicle is starting so its not the battery, if it were clicking from the battery it would mean the van wouldnt start and it would be clicking when it tries to turn over.

The back up sensor signals on my GMC Sierra 1500 has stopped working.how to get to and repair the problem?

Hi,
Problem in the backup/reverse switch.

The problem would be a disconnected/damage reverse switch. Test first if you shift into reverse and the back off light turns on. If not, check the reverse switch on the transmission, connections might be cut off/disconnected.
A good mechanic can check that switch on the transmission, located on the side of the transmission underneath your car.
Hope that helps!

How do i know if i have back up sensors

By backup I assume that you mean reversing sensors. Look on the rear bumper (fender) of the car you should see a number of small round disks embedded in the plastic (same colour as paintwork).

This should be them.

If they are there try reversing over the kerb or a small step (just less than max clearance height) the sensors will normally pick this up as you get within about a foot or so and the warning beeper will sound.

Alterately put a large pillow behind the car and reverse toward it. If you hit it without a warning beeper going off you don't have the reverse sensors or they are not working.

Backup lights will not turn on and cannot locate the fuse box

Turn the key on and don't start the van. just Turn it to on. now pull the gear shift up and down while having someone stay behind watch the back up lights. go from park to drive if the back up lights flash when you go past reverse then your trouble is adjustment. to fix it put it in [R] and adjust the back up light switch.
