Toyota 1995 Camry

Your Non interference Toyota engine is safe if the timing belt breaks. Many, not all, Toyota engines can freewheel and not be destroyed. You will lose your power-assisted steering and braking, so steering will be hard and braking will be hard.

3.0L V6
Use Gates belt T257. Water pump is driven by timing belt.

Most times when the timing belt goes it results in bending a couple of the inlet valves because the pistons are coming up as the valves are going down.

Worst case is that the valves punch holes in the piston crowns

You should remove the rocker box covers and camshafts to check that all of the valve stems can be moved or more to the point all come back up to sit at the same level proving that they are travelling straight in the valve guides.

If any of them fail to sit level they are not seating on the valve face and the engine will not run anyway, in that case you will need to take the head or heads off to do a manual inspection.

Loud knocking coming from lower timing cover area 1995 toyota camry 2.2

I do think that loose key and keyway could cause the knock. It would also explain the loss of power, due to the engine timing not being spot on.
A knocking big end or main bearing would not improve at higher revs, it would get worse.

Act soon before the keyway in the crankshaft itself is too badly damaged, by removing the crankshaft pulley, lower timing belt cover, and belt guide. You can then get a precise idea of what exactly is worn. This may assist

You may actually have to find an oversize key, for a neat fit in the crankshaft. It may be necessary to file or grind it to fit. Engineering supply houses stock them, eg

Look for the engine side that has the accessories like the alternator.. power steering etc.. It should have belts that turn these items.. There will be a black plastic cover on the engine located behind these belts mentioned above.. The timing belt is located behind that cover.. Hope this helps..

When ignition turned, just get a click. All other electrical works, radio, power windows, etc. I think it's probably the starter.

Toyota 4 cyl motor - oil sludge

Go on ebay and search for your exact replacement motor by a company in North Hollywood, Ca. Japanese direct Motors. I bought one for my mom's camry and all I had to do was swap over the oil pump configuration and while i had it out i change the timing belt and all the accessary belts. The car runs like a new one now and the engine cost me $400 + 200 to ship directly to my shop labor was about 20 hours 120 in parts for a total $1900. Parts and labor. If i would have cut the labor by doing the work myself. It would have been a savings about $1200.00. I don't know if this is what you wanted in a suggestion but, if you are like me I like to get things done as quickly as possible for a reasonable price. These engines come with a one year warranty becuase they are teated for quality before they are sold and i kind of like the idea of not having to break in the rings and bearings. Also if something goes wrong with what i put together i have to eat the cost of my mistakes. If these engines fail the company will replace it provided you did everything right.
