Question about 2002 GMC Sierra 2500HD

Have a 02 gmc duramax engine diesel wouldnt start one morning my neighbor shot starting fluid into intake the engine revved up to 3500 r.p.m. for a few seconds but continued running it ran for about a mile the made this clicking sound and quit cannot get it to start now is it possible that the timing chain broke i understand that the gear on the chain is made out of a teflon type material could have broke appreciate any help found that fuel filter had a pin hole leak has been replaced and primed will not start

I see that you had the injectors replaced 20,000 miles ago. I would still check the oil to make sure it is not overfull. The new injectors could be bad. If the oil level is not overfull then get a paper towel and touch the dip stick tip on the paper towel while oil is on the dip stick. If it's only oil it will not spread. If it has diesel in the oil the oil with spread. If this test doesn't show the injectors to be bad then you have three other possibilities. The FICM (fuel injection control module), the fuel pressure regulator, or the injection pump. It's hard to pinpoint what the problem is without running more tests and the only way to run those tests is with the computer the dealership has. Just so you know your injectors are still under warranty until 100,000 miles. Most likely you will have to take it to the dealership to get you truck fixed. I hope this helps you some.

If you hit the tank and it ran? The fuel pump is bad. By striking the tank you jarred the pump, causing what mechanics call "The last ride" Peice of sound advise, Replace with ac delco pump. The zone pumps go out usaly within months if not days

Truck will not start in the mornings and will run down the battery trying.

The fuel injector underneath the intake manifold have a common leakage problem causing the engine to flood and not allowing the engine to start. Check the fuel pressure upon cranking in the morning. That is a good place to start.

2002 chevy 6.6 duramax wont start even in warm weather or after motor is warm..... only starts with starting fluid. codes are p0335/p0193/poo87/p0090

The Duramax fuel filter assembly is bad about sucking air. Replace the fuel filter assembly. It comes with a new fuel filter.
I need some good feedback.

Excessive black exhaust on 2003 GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel.

This is what i would try (cheapest first) redexe/wyyns
injector cleaner,double dose,then i have put 1gal gas in 10gal diesel to increase burn temp (you may encounter a hot start problem temporarilly)then if still smoking, get a compresion check on the engine(this will tell you volumes)
by the way the NATO tanks put in 1/3 gas in diesel to stop it freezing in arctic conditions.any more than 1/3 can result in problems.

Truck fails to start

The 01 DuraMax trucks do not have a block heater, unless they were special ordered with one. Just turn the key to the on position a few times before you try to crank it, and hold the accelerator partially down while doing it. However, don't hold the accelerator if it starts to crank, it DOES need a minute to warm up before being revved. Also, use a diesel treatment when its cold, it helps a lot.

it sounds as if maybe the transfer pump is going bad. chrysler has come out with a retro kit that moves the pump from the side of the engine and puts it in the tank
