1999 Audi A6- Front Driver's Seat Unable to reset memory on seat

I have a 1999 Audi A6. I am unable to reset the driver's side seat memory. It always goes back to a weird seat position so I am forced o manually adjust. I know how to reprogram the seat properly so I know it is not me. My guess is that I need to replace a part but I do not know if it is the memory settings on the door or is it another part (maybe under the seat).

Hi, I know it's a long time since you posted, so I do not know if you are still following this. Anyway, I've got the same model car, and similar problem. Just wondering if you ever got yours sorted?

SOURCE: audi timing belt

It's a complicated job, and usually takes about 8 hours to do the full service if you're familiar with the car's mechanicals, you have a good array of tools (air tools help a lot), you're familiar with what you're doing, and with how to disassemble everything (including removing the front of the car - I'm not joking). There's more to the job than just the belt too - you need to replace the timing belt, timing tensioner, water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt, and serpentine tensioner. If your cam seals are leaking (which is also known to happen), you'd need those and plan for a couple more hours as well, due to the care that must be taken not to scratch or score the cam end caps.

SOURCE: My infrared remote does not work. I have an Audi A6 1995

Do you have memory seats as well? If so follow these steps I am going to refer to the keys as A and B as you have 2 of them
1) Unlock car with key A
2) Turn ignition into ON position with key A and roll down the window
3) Point Key B at IR Sensor and Click twice (perform both clicks under 5 seconds)
4) Turn off ignition and pull Key A out
5) Turn ignition into ON position with Key B
6) Point Key A at IR Sensor and Click once
7) Turn off ignition and Pull Key B out

Key A should be programmed as the Master Seat Program and Key B should be programmed for the Secondary seat program
So when you set your memory seats Key A is for Memory Position 1 and Key B is for memory position 2
if you don't have memory seats then you only have to point the receiver at the sensor and click once. That should just sync the IR Frequency and Codes

SOURCE: how to remove rear seat from 2001 Audi allroad

Not 100% sure on yours but normally you'll either have a couple of bolts way down under seat cushion at front, near floor, or in some cases, you have to push seat cushion back toward rear window, hard & lift, to pop it out of notched catch under it.

You need to access bolts that are bolted to the floor, disconnect wiring, move the seat forward and look from the rear seat down under, you will see bolts..

LOST BATTERY

It's under the rear seat on the right side of the car. Pull the two phillips screws at the front lower edge of the rear seat bench and lift the seat out from the front edge and then out. The battery is held down with a 13mm bolt and tall bracket. Cables are 10mm nuts.

Audi A6 rear seat problem

The rear seat pulls out easily.  Grab the front of the seat with fingers under seat on driver side and pull up hard.  do the same on the passenger side and it will unclip.  Then you can move the seat around to get to the buckle.  Install by inserting rear end in first and lineing up the metal tabs w/ the female plastic inserts in the floor and push down hard until it snaps into place.

2001 Audi A6 Seat overheated!

There should be plug for the heated seat most likley under it or on the drivers side of passenger seat. This should fix your problem, if it doesn't that means the short is in the dial in the dash. There should be a seperate fuse for each seat in the fuse box. If unplugging the seat doesn't help come back and i will figure out which fuse is the right one and where your fuse box is.
