Your sensor is located next to the crankshaft pulley. it is halfway into the block and, the housing will have wire clips protruding outwards. it should be around the top left or right side of the pulley.

Look just behind the down pipe of the exhaust manifold. right at the 2 o'clock position of the bell housing top on a 4.0 when looking at it from front of the car, yes its behind the lip at the hardest place to get to. or access from under the car.

SOURCE: crankshaft sensor located 98 jeep grnd cher 4wd 6cy

it is located at the back of the engine on top of the transmission bell housing, the plug runs over to the passenger side of the engine bay and it comes out from behind the engine, you can actually get your hand on the sensor itself from under the hood on the drivers side, and i believe its a 13mm bolt holding it in,the new sensor will have a sticker on the end of it...leave it there,it is used for correct spacing between the sensor and the flywheel, hope this helps

Testimonial: "Everything was just like you said but as a not atleast for my jeep it is an 11mm not 13mm. Works great so far (keep fingers crossed) "

Where is locate the camshaft position sensor on 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo limited 4.7 l

The camshaft position sensor is located inside the distributor. It is a hall effect swich, simply remove the distributor cap and the rotor and you can lift it out, unplug and replace.
Have fun but beware a bad crankshaft position sensor can cause a false cam sensor code to be set sometimes.
Good luck.
