I currently own a 2001 Mits. Galant ES and I am trying to upgrade my interior by putting in leather seats. I owned an 01 galant a few years back and I was able to find leather seats that were in a 93-99 model and they fit in my 01. I just bought another 01 galant and I was wondering if leather seats from a 2004 model would fit in 2001 model? I contacted Mitsubishi and they said that there was a good chance that they would fit. I don't want to remove the seats and go through the whole hassle if they won't fit. I was wondering if anyone could help! Thanks!!
Eighth generation galant 1996-2006
2001 and 2004 should have same body interior specs
take one front seat out and if the bolt holes dont line up
you save yourself a lot of time and trouble
not many DIY car owners willing to muck around
to do interior swaps

dont know exsacly where is but should be where gear box meets engine and it sounds like the soliniod is stuck or gone or starter could be stuck in engine if manual put in gear and rock back and forward this may help relase it

Idling problems may be cause buy a number of issues. You may check out the fast idle control valve and PCV if they would need cleaning. You can check out the timing it may be advanced, that is why you feel that the car runs hard.

hi, the problem you are describing sounds like the starter motor has packed up or a wire might have even come off the back of the starter if your sure the battry is fully charged then the chances are the problem is with the starter motor, that is where i would start looking anyway
