Cigarette lighters dont work?

dose it work or warm up when you press and hold it down

Wow what a great prank I can pull on my boys. The fuse is number 5 rated at 15 amps. Here is a link with the electrical information that you can click on.

By all means, ck all your fuses first. Sometimes they blow if someone holds the lighter in.

Most likely a fuse, or a faulty lighter.

I had the same problem with the power mirrors and I found the cigarette lighter fuse blown, I replaced it and the mirrors worked.

most probably its a fuse. go to your manual and it'll indicate the location of your fuse box. most likely there are two under the left and right engine bay covers. pop the fuse covers and you'll find the fuse for the lighters. this info is also in the manual.

it is fuse # 1 in the fuse box under the dash on the drivers side it is a blue 15 amp fuse

pull the fuse panel cover and look on the back. If not there go to mitchell on demand.

use a volt meter or 12 volt test light and see if voltage is present at the lighter, it is most likely a defective lighter.

Anyone having this problem should be aware that there is a second cigarette lighter inside the bottom of the console. You should check to see if that unit is working or not as well. If both units are out, you could have a bigger problem. You wouldn't want to replace the lighter unit and have it still not work.
