1995 gmc truck shift problems

have you checked for any PCM updates for this problem, even though its a 95. how about talking to someone at a trans shop to see if they have come across this problem.

Gear shifts happen depending on how far the gas pedal is
pressed & the load on the vehicle

Transmission pressures change as you drive under different conditions,so the shifts happen at different speeds

There is no passing gear

If you have a 4 speed,you have 3 forward gears & an overdrive
forward gear, plus torque converter lock-up

You saying you have no 4th to 3rd downshift or whatever

Maybe the transaxle is failing mechanically inside-worn out

For your year, this is an internal transmission problem. Take it back to where you had it rebuilt.

replace your alternator it is bad stupid i know but thats your issue.

Try resetting the computer...by disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes. The codes should return in 50 miles or so of ormal driving.

If you have a factory radio, make sure you know the code to restart it.

This model has a tranny computor under the dash on the right side screwed to the bottom of the dash. If I remember correctly, there is also an inline fuse attached to the harness. Check the fuse.

You can retrieve the codes through the OBD dianostic connector with a scanner.
