SOURCE: 1997 F150 heater problem

your problem is caused by the air temperature control blend door actuator motor being defective, the little motor moves the door that gives either hot air or cold air or a blend of the 2.

SOURCE: Just replaced leaking radiator in my 2001 Grand

Hi

You need to bleed the heater system, suspect you still have an air lock in it.

Slacken off outlet side of heater, hose clip. and run engine at 1000rpm, pull off the hose, once the flow is coming out constant, refit hose and tighten clip, and top up coolant.

Good Luck !

A FixYa would be appreciated !........ Thanks....John

We had some subzero weather while I was on vacation. My 2004 Jaguar was parked outside for several weeks. We had another very cold, icy day, and heater did not work. Fan works, rear window defroster...

What is happening here is that the faster the heater blows air through the fan, the more it cools the liquid in the heater core, and so heat output is reduced. The root of the problem is either the engine is not warming up enough, or the heater core, and/or heater core lines, are plugged up, not allowing the water to circulate properly in the heater core. Here is what I would try.

1. Top off the radiator and overflow.
2. Is the engine warming up properly? Is your temperature gauge showing normal temperatures? If it is not, then replace the thermostat.
3. If steps 1 and 2 do not solve the problem, get the vehicle in a shop, locate the heater core lines, take them apart and flush out the heater core. Look for blockages in the fittings. Do a flow test on the core. It may be clogged and need to be replaced.

Renault Megane Dynamique 1.6 2004 - Heater fan stopped working - wet front footwells

Im almost sure that your problem is a broken or leaking heater core and needs to be replaced cose 1 your coolant level allways will be low due to the leak and 2 it could damage your blower fan motor. if in winter time you need the heat fixit... If not you could cancel the 2 waters hoses going to the heater core. hope this helps.

This problem drove me crazy for 2 weeks. Then the car just stopped running. It would turn over but it would not fire. I replaced the crank and camshaft sensors. That did nothing. I replaced the ignition switch and the car started right up. So if your dash indicator lights start doing a light show for you and your gages jump around or just stop working. Try replacing the ignition switch.

How to replace the heater core 1995 buick regal 3.8 or seal it

Stop leak doesn't seem to work very well on heater cores. To get the old one out, you have to take apart the dash board. Lay on your back across the seat to see where the screws are. There are also some clips. On my 93, I had to pop out the air conditioning vents to get at some screws. Take off the glove compartment. Disconnect the hoses from the heater core (in the engine compartment.) Pull out the heater core and put in a new one. It's really not that bad, but the first time you do it, you will be puzzled.

Mini Cooper convertible is overheating, fan contiues after stop

I had this exact same problem -- for about a year and a half! Replaced thermostat, replaced sensor twice, replaced overflow tank, replaced radiator cap, placed a grounding kit on the car in case the problem was electrical ... and was ABOUT to replace thermostat again and then the water pump when a new mechanic suggested we bleed air out of the cooling system. The heater core was PACKED with air, as was the upper hose valve area. Previous mechanic had been using a pressurized fill device to bleed the system and this had just been backing air into the heater core. There are two valves under the hood for bleeding air -- one on the heater core and one on the upper hose. It only takes a few minutes to fix this!
