If your service engine light is on, read the codes. It could pin point the problem. Look at the harmonic balancer to see if it is coming apart. You may have a cylinder miss. Lots of possibilities. Here is a post to help you look

does the engine turn over but not fire up ? or does the engine not even turn over ? either way i would suggest getting the OBD codes read as this will point to any sensors/switchs or circuits that may be causing the fault , please reply with the code numbers and i will be able to help diagnose the problem from there

The engine light is on because the engine mangement system has been alerted of a malfunction by one or more of the sensors. A diagnostic scan will need to run to determine what codes have actived the light. From those codes repairs needed can be determined. I hope this helps.
Alot thing could be there; first I sugges scanned the PCM (computer) to know excalty what "engine fault code" is stored there; if your engine light turn on, them you have one or more codes there. With this number code, send us and we will give additional details.
