I have a bmw z3 with 6 cd changer in the boot but no power seems to be getting to it, when I press eject nothing happens no noise to suggest it is even trying to eject.
would appreciate any help, thanks
have tried fuses the only ones I can find are for the radio itself which works fine, i press the cd button on the radio which then says no disc inserted so it seems to be comunicating with the cd changer, there's lust no power at the changer itself.have tried fuses the only ones I can find are for the radio itself which works fine, i press the cd button on the radio which then says no disc inserted so it seems to be comunicating with the cd changer, there's lust no power at the changer itself.
Found solution, inserted credit card between disc holder and carrier which ejected holder, reinserted it and it now works fine.Found solution, inserted credit card between disc holder and carrier which ejected holder, reinserted it and it now works fine.
Thanks for for you reply, fuses all ok but have found the solution. Inserted credit card between disc holder and disc holder carrier, this released the disc holder so I just reinserted it and it now works fine. thanksThanks for for you reply, fuses all ok but have found the solution.

A couple of different possibilities here but this is a typical problem when it comes to the MB cd changers. Before ruling the cd changer bad, check the spring settings on the sides of the changer. Make sure they are in the 'H' position since it sits in the glovebox. The Mercedes cd changers don't have a reset button. 95% of the time its the cd changer that is bad when this scenario happens. Its caused by a linkage that gets knocked out of place internally of the cd changer. Also try not to use burned or homemade cd's as they can also cause the cd changer not to read the discs anymore. If your cd changer is brand new or a factory rebuild then the dealer should change it out no problem since MB cd changers are known for this problem. Also the version coding needs to done to configure the D2B fiber optic ring properly.
It is a internal CD Changer Problem, there is no way to get them out unless you dissassemble the Changer. Your best bet is to remove the Changer and take it into a Car Audio Repair Shop and have them take a look at it.
If you turn radio on then mode it should display cd,if not there is no connection, either power or ubi cable. The only fuse is on the back of the changer. You have to remove to access.I don`t know your problem but if your cartridge will not eject, hold eject button and insert credit card under cartridge push fully in and move left to right this will locate micro switch.
Make sure cd changer is recognised on display on dash using mode on radio. This means it has power and correct connection.Next hold eject button on changer and insert credit card under cartridge, move left to right .This will locate micro switch and release cartridge.
This happened to me a few years ago. It wouldn't eject the CD for a year. I literally smacked the side of the dash where the cd player is located and it came out the next time I pressed eject. I found that same solution in a couple of forums. I had to do it a few times. I think the CD just has to allign with something to eject properly.
