How do i fix a stuck blend door on 2010 dodge nitro?

I would pull off the blend door actuator and swap it out with a new one. Or another option is to swap it out with one of the other actuators. The blend door actuator is interchangeable with the actuators for the mode-air doors and the recirculation-air door.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

If equipped, remove the silencer from below the driver side of the instrument panel.

Disconnect the wire harness connector from the blend door actuator located on the driver side of the air distribution housing.

Remove the two screws that secure the blend door actuator to the actuator mounting bracket and remove the actuator

98 Stratus - Access to vent temperature cable and vent door/flapper ?

Sorry but the system doesn't use cables, it is all motorized and this is a common issue on all older cars. You will need to remove the dash assembly and check the temperature control door (also known as the "blend door). In all cases the door must be checked for freedom of movement, the blend door binding destroys the tiny DC stepper motor that moves the door and in may cases the shaft snaps off. Have a 1998 dodge caravan blows cold only new thermastst flushed system new anti freeze help

Most likely the problem is a broken blend door inside the heater box or a broken adjuster cable going to the blend door, the blend door inside the heater box is responsible for heater output depending on your temp adjustment on your heater control panel, most likely the blend door is stuck in the cold position allowing cold air to come through the vents verses allowing the blower motor to blow warm air past the hot heater core to produce heat, check the temperature adjuster cable behind your heater controls and make sure its connected and not broken, lastly make sure the blend door isnt broken and operating freely.

I have hot coolant going in and out of heater coar all hoses are hot but still no heat

so maybe it's the blend door. The manual I'm looking at indicates your blend door is cable actuated. Maybe the cable sheath is loose such that the cable is not moving the door. See if you can access one or both ends of the cable to see if it's working. If nothing else, you could take the cable off the door and see if you can open the door by hand to see if that will get you hot air. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Heater blows cold air

Hi!
If the Temp. Selector Control is set to Heat and blows cold air, your Blend Door Actuator may be stuck or it is inoperative. The actuator is not fixable, if it fails, it must be replaced. Follow the instructions to remove and replace it.
  1. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  2. Remove the instrument panel.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blend door motor/actuator.
  4. Remove the four screws holding the blend door actuator to the plenum.
  5. Remove the temperature blend door actuator.

Hi..i put in the thing in the AC to make it get cool..and hot air still coming out of the vent..its not blowing cold...even the compressor comes on...but only one of the fans come on...can u help me...

The blend door is inside the box where the air flows from outside into the car. The air goes through the air conditioner first, then it goes to the blend door. When the door is open, the air will then go thru the heater and get hot. When the door is closed, the cold air will come out the vents. In this way, the blend door controls how much air goes thru the heater. When you are running the A/C, you want the blend door closed. If your a/c compressor is working but you are not getting cold air, the blend door may be stuck open.
My book shows your blend door is behind the glove box. It also says your door is controlled by a cable. What you should do is look behind the glove box to see what happens when you change the temperature on the panel. It should move a cable behind the glove box that turns a lever on the door. The cable should turn the lever as far as it will go. If it doesn't do that, it is either broken or needs to be adjusted. It may have slipped out of it's clamp. To adjust, loosen the clamp, turn the knob to cold, and push the door fully closed, then tighten the clamp.

Let me know if it doesn't look like what I'm saying or if you have other questions.
