Rain sometimes causes electrical problems

Rain sometimes causes weird electrical problems. I have read other postings where rain leaks in and gets in the fuse box and causes strange problems. Everything from the radio turning off to wipers not working and loud popping noise under hood? Last time this happened the battery was drained and I had to charge it.

no one told me, it only happens when, during, and after it rains, last week it everything was working fine and then it rained over night, truck started but radio was going in and out, wipers wouldn't work and it left me stranded at gas station-would not start-security light blinking on and off

Find the source of the leak and fix that. Once water gets into the fuse box it will short circuit the componets such as fuses and cause all kinds of problems.

What is the cause of water leak passenger side floor of 2011 toyota?

I had similar on 02 Highlander. Source was leak from around window trim (rust) and roof racks connector entering and going down the windshield post behind the trim. Gently remove the interior plastic trim piece to the right of the windshield to see any water coming down there. Find source, disassemble whatever is required and use good sealant like supra expert.

Vacuum leak on 95 buick riviera, I have several problems related to vacuum leaks. First is cruise control quit working recently, second windshield washers not working and third air conditioner seems to...

May have to check out if the vacuum motors have the vacuum tubes attached but this may take a lot of work to disassemble the heating ventilation air conditioning out of the dash and underneath the dashboard. If rain enters the compartment under the dashboard, the pan that is designed to catch water may be disturbed or cracked somehow. Try to check fuses for a/c and the heating, the cruise control, and windshield wipers to see if there is an obvious electrical issue there. The vacuum leak is not related to the windshield wiper motor not working.

Good luck on this repair.

This could be fuel not reaching the injectors. Check for a clogged fuel filter or fuel lines. Dirty or clogged fuel injectors. Also difficulty starting after rain can be caused from old plug wires. I hope this helps.

1994 Supra Turbo - electrical problem when weather gets above 100 F

Is it only when you first start it up, and then it clears up? Is this in the rain? What weather affects it? My 300ZX TT had problems like that in the rain sometimes when I first started it up. What I figured was that I was getting too much moisture on the mass air sensor and it was causing it to tell the ECU to fuel the engine incorrectly. Being a hot-wire MAF sensor, once it heated up and burned off the condensation, the fueling was controlled properly and I did not have the problem anymore. I don't recall offhand if the Supra also uses a MAF sensor or a MAP sensor to determine airflow though. Post up some more info, especially some details on when you notice the problem (weather-wise, as well as if the engine is cold or hot, etc) and we can try to go from there.

Weather related electrical problems

I had this problem with mine. Do not ever use a automated car wash on your ALERO----it destroys the seal around the window. Then, when you drive in rain, water leaks into the fuse box, shorting it out. I had to replace the fuse box ($500). Hope this helps.
