What have you checked as far as spark goes?  Spark plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor button?

if you dont have any spark ten you probably need to change your ignition module or coil pack, but i would also check your fuses because you could just have a blown fuse

Check spark to plugs. Possible crankshaft position sensor. Located at rear of engine between engine and trans.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me and it was merely the IAC module had popped up and was not securely in place. The IAC (intake air control) is located behind the air inlet on top of the intake manifold. I clicked it back in place and it started an ran just fine. The way I determined what was causing it was by renting the diagnostic tool from Auto Zone for $160 and it gave me four possible causes. I started with the IAC module because I had recently had it replaced. Hope this helps. The four possible causes by the way were dirty throttle body, vacuum line leak, faulty IAC module, and poor electrical connection to IAC. Hope this helps. Mine is also a 99 Jeep Cherokee.

My 1995 jeep will die just driving and sometimes will start right back up other times you have to wait about an hour. fuel pump is working fine you can hear it

The pump can be running but not pumping any fuel.
When it stops running you will need to figure out if you are loosing spark to the plugs or fuel to the injectors.

Check out your cold start choke. It is designed to cause your fuel mixture to run "rich" until it warms up. It is basically a heat sensitive coil that reacts to heat from the exhaust manifold.

Causes for no spark on 94 jeep cherokee please

Well it could be many things, But have you relpaced the dist. cap and rotor, within the last 15,000 miles or wires and plugs??? next step is the coil ? then it gets fun. like timing. but I think most jeeps with a Inline 6 have a bullet proof engine for the most part. As we all know there is plenty of semi's on the road. well the same set up is there. as an Inline Jeep. I would have to say 90% of semi's on the road are inline 6 cyl. engines. and may of them go to 1million miles.
so plugs, wires, cap, rotor and ignition coil. that is a good starting point.

'93 Grand Cherokee intermittently starts and runs

Hi, I had simmilar problem with my 1993 JGC . I ran out of gas and it would not start until the next day. Then it will start and run until I put the brakes on tho stop and then it will die. It starts right back up. Ended up being the voltage regulator in the ECC/ECM. It is at the mechanics shop right now waiting for the ECC to come in.I will post a follow up.
have Fun,
