I need to get my 97' Crown victoria trunk open from the inside.
I own a 1997 Ford crown victoria and I removed the unlocking mechanism from the key port to the lock cable. I cannot go through the back seat because the opening is too small for anyone to get through. I need HELP! Is there a safety cord or lever in the trunk?

There should be a safety trunk release located on the upper rear window deck platform- a black handpull . If it is still intact- it should pop the trunk lid. At least it works that way on a 1997 Crown Vic.

There is no ignition module. The ignition coils are controlled directly by the Powertrain control module (computer) located inside the vehicle above the drivers left foot and connected to the engine wiring harness thru the firewall
Lap belt or shoulder harness? Lap belt - remove rear seat bottom by pushing in on bottom edge of the seat cushion and lifting. This will expose the lap belt and its anchor. Shoulder belt should be accessible via trunk compartment. If not then you'll have to remove the back of the rear seat to get to it.
