SOURCE: seccurity light staying on car starts and shuts right off gas gauge shows empty

I had the same problem recently. Was quoted $400 - 500 for a fix, but when they got in there it was just a wiring issue. Still cost $220, but that was labor only, took about 3 hours to fix.

Car has a hard time starting only for the 1st time of the day it starts after 3 times, we replaced the octopus we did a tune up complete still does the same thing

there is a check valve in the tank, part of the fuel sending unit. these go bad and let the fuel run back into the tank, that is why it takes time to start. you can't buy it separate from the sending unit. It will cost around $300.00 to fix it, plus labor if you don't do it. I would live with it till some else on the unit went bad, ie.pump.

Fuel gauge is reading empty, and the low fuel light is on. My tank is full. Where should I start looking?

the fuel level sensor in your fuel pump has gone bad. it is intergral to the entire sending unit assembly (fuel pump), and is located inside the gas tank. you must lower the gas tank to gain access. good luck!

My s 10 has stalled a couple of times when the gas tank was reading just under half . I put gas in it and started right up ,could this be the start of fuel pump problems??

Not necessarily the fuel pump itself but the sending unit reading the gas level improperly. The sending unit and fuel pump should be a complete fuel pump module on this vehicle.

The low fuel light stays on even when tank is

Hi: Your Fuel Level Sending Unit That Is Located in Your Fuel Tank Is Probally Bad. BUT before you go to taking the Sending Unit out Of your Tank Check to see if ALL Connections To And From Tank to Gauge are Conected Good. Also You could have a Fuse that Goes to the Sending Unit,in Your Fuse Block.Check And See if You Have A Fuse Labeled Fuel Sending Unit or Fuel Sensor. If you end up Replacing The Fuel Tank Sending Unit Run Your Gas Tank Down To Almost Out Of Gas Before You Start to Remove The Metal Straps Holding Your Tank Up. Cause The Sending Unit Is on Top of Your Tank ,And Your Fuel Pump Is In The Gas Tank As Well. Hope This Has Helped You Please Send Me a Vote on How my Solutions Have Helped You And Also You Can Send Me A Testamony Thank You From the WYOCWBOY

2002 eldorado ESC- gas gauges stays on full

Not a fuse. There is no fuse for the level sensor. These are known for fuel level sensors being bad.Sometimes they will leave a code and sometimes not.You can check codes and see if you have a fuel level sensor code. The other thing you can do is check the connections and make sure they are clean and on securely. If you find that the level sensor is bad. Then it is easier to replace if the fuel in the tank is as low as possible for easier removal of the fuel tank.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Fuel Gauge stuck on full

You need a new fuel level sending unit. It is the sensor in the gas tank. There have been several issues with these, and they are primarily caused by bad fuel. I would recommend replacing the fuel level sending unit, then switching fuel brands.

2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer 6cyl 4wd gas gage malfunction

It sounds like you have a fuel level sensor problem. The fuel level sensor attaches to the fuel pump inside the gas tank. The tank will have to be removed for access. The fuel pump assembly comes out of the top of the tank, and the sensor can be then be replaced. Removing the fuel tank is the major expense. The sensor runs around $120.00.
