'96 cadillac deville has no air.cond./heat

'96 cad deville has air/heat problems.error would say 'low refrig-air comp shutting off'.blower fan worked occasionally-then heater just quit. we had ac/heat module and the blower fan replaced, paid much $ and the only thing that works now is the blower-just fan.it always switches to ECONOMY as soon as its turned on but no errors come up now.when we complained we were told, oh yeah forgot to tell you. the air compressor is shot. this has been a 2 year problem.

Unfortunately for you ( i had the same problem) The A/C compressor HAS to be in working order on these cars or else all heck breaks out with the climate control.

If it's a nice car, get a new compressor installed. If it's borderline- get rid of the car.

I paid 2200 to Cadillac to fix the A/C and climate control only to have the transmission fail in my '93.

I dumped the car soon thereafter....

1999 cadillac deville a/c off low refrig error

I had the same problem. The mechanic could not get the compressor to take in new freon. It has to do with the car's memory. You have to reset it by disconnecting the hot wire from the battery which for thirty seconds. This resets the cars internal memory, so it won't remember that it's out of freon. Reconnect it turn on the car and turn on the air the compressor will start.
