Vehicle stalls sometimes

1999 intrepid will start fine and run ok then will stall. Wont start for a while sometimes for a couple of hours. Is it the ignition switch, starter, cam sensor, or crank sensor?

Sounds like it could be your coil pack.  Have you had this checked?

Could be either the cam sensor or crank sensor , but I would check the crank sensor first , this sensor will not cause a check engine light either

My 1999 Ford Explorer XLT has started stalling while driving down the road. Sometimes it will start right back up and run fine, other times it will run for a minute or two and then stall again. Sometimes...

couple of things,if you a autozone ,pepboys or another automotive store around they can diagnose it for free,or you may want to check your idle air control valve aslo known as iacv its on your intake manifold close to your carb it could be clogged up with carbon from burned fuel build up.good luck

Intrepid turns off

Sounds like the ac compressor is seized up.
I would unplug the compressor clutch and see if it still stalls.

Vehicle Stalls

you should have engine light on and engine codes
if its the cam or crank sensors, shouldn't be the starter i would start with the ingition switch.

1999 Ford Windstar. engine stalls.

You know, lookinig at this problem more, you have more possibilities of what may be wrong:
  1. Your idle speed may be incorrect
  2. Fuel filter may be clogged or water and impurities in your fuel system
  3. Possible damaged coil pack or wires
  4. Emissions sytem components faulty (a sensor, catalytic converter, muffler, etc.)
  5. Faulty or incorrect gapped spark plugs
  6. A vacuum leak at the intake manifold or vacuum hoses (check the hoses for cracks or damage)
  7. Fuel injection or engine control systems malfunction (ECM)
This should keep you busy....at least with the easy stuff to inspect.

Car stalls when driving and doesn't restart right away

Fuel filter changed recently? If it just started this & you filled up somewhere you don't normally fill up, then I'd try some "heet" additive or similar to remove moisture from gas tank, just in case that's the problem.$5.00 test.
