Were is fan blower resistor located - 1995 Ford Contour

most resistor blocks bolt to the fan housing, be causes its air cooled
and must be near fan actual so it always is cooled. see?
i just looked,its there. dead center blower case.(fsm book)

ah but not if the thermofuse in the resistor block is blown

Located Usually On Front Of Engine Block About the Size Of A Quarter ( Black ) with One Wire Comiig outof it

Heater is controlled by a fan switch located in your dash panel, a resistor and a blower motor. If the fan is not working the first place to check is the resistor which is located behind the dash panel in the plenum. The way to check this is remove the plug and insert a jumoer wire, if the fan runs the resistor is bad.

Check your fuses for the blower motor. If they are ok, it is probably the blower fan resistor which is located on or next to the blower fan assembly under the passenger side dash in the footwell. if resistor is bad, there will be no fan speeds. make sure you are getting power to fan motor, if power but fan does not work then its the fan. check fuses and fan resistor first. good-day !

BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR IS UNDER THE HOOD IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LOCATED ON THE BLOWER EVAPORATOR HOUSING ON THE SIDE TOWARD THE ENGINE RESISTOR IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE BLOWER AIR CONDITIONING RELAYS.

The resistor is located right behind the blower fan motor and to the drivers side just a bit. I found it easier to get to the resistor by pulling the blower fan housing

When the Blower Motor Resistor (controls blower speeds) goes bad, the blower motor works only on HIGH SPEED. REPLACE IT.
BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR Removal & Installation

• Disconnect negative battery cable.
• Remove right lower instrument panel insulator panel.
• Disconnect blower resistor connector located behind right side of dash.
• Remove blower resistor screws and blower resistor.

To install, reverse removal procedure

The blower motor fan is controlled by the blower motor resistor.Its the resistor which controls the fan on respective speed which you select.But if the resistor goes faulty,then it will not be able to set the required speed which you set for fan,so it works on high speed only. In this case you will have to replace the blower motor resistor. Check fog for the location of blower motor resistor location:--- see part number 8 in the diagram below.

The blower motor resistor is located next to blower motor under the dash.Its fitted with 2 screws and a wiring connector.You have to remove the screws and wiring connector and take the resistor out and place the new resistor in same position and connect the connector as well as screws. ------------------- this should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The Blower Motor Resistor is located on the passenger side firewall, not far from your A/C's H-Valve (or expansion valve), going inside of the vehicle. The blower motor resistor has a 4 or 5 way black connector plugged into it and this is the only visible portion of the Resistor you will see. Remove the wiring connector and remove the 2 or 3 screws with an 8 mm or 5/16" socket (8 mm and 5/16" are the same). Once the screws or fasteners are removed, just pull the blower motor resistor out of the firewall and if you look at it, it will have various coils of wire on it, sometimes it will show burnt coils, but you can always check the various coils with an Ohm-meter.

Aside from that, install the new Blower Motor Resistor and Voilà! Your inside Blower Motor should work just fine.

A brief note here, if your fan doesn't work when the fan switch is on High, then it's not the Blower Motor Resistor, but possibly the Blower Motor itself. Should this occur, please get back to me insofar as how to replace the blower motor and why the blower motor's wires have to be twisted...even with the new blower motor fan.
