Question about Honda Ridgeline
The security alarm went off on my Honda Ridgeline tonight. It wouldn't allow me to disable it using my remote entry or by using the key in the door. At first I was able to get into the vehicle but still unable to shut off the alarm. It also wouldn't allow me to start the truck with the key in the ignition. I left and came back a few hours later to try again and this time it wouldn't even let me unlock the door to get into the vehicle. Not with the remote or the key. Also...when I put key in door to try to open the truck...both front windows went down about a half inch. is there something I can do or do I need to call a factory technician out to where the truck is parked?

You have an aftermarket alarm (factory system did not have a "valet switch") Have it removed or replaced.

Try re-setting the computer...Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and leave off for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the computer to reset. The charger may have interupted the signal or something.

If this works you might just get a kick out of it. Most of the time at a dealership they will charge you upwards of $80 to "reset your security"
Simply put your key in the door and turn it from rest to the unlock position 4 times (you may have to actually lock instead of unlock 4 times). Not sure if it's the same on every car, but it worked when my sister lost her transponder key for her PT Cruiser. please let me know if it works. =)
