Ignition problems The ignition in my car seems to be stuck... I put the key in and it won't turn... PLEASE HELP...

I saw this problem on a 2010 chev diesel. We had to disconnect the battery. His problem was the ignition switch shorted out causing current to feed the starter . There maybe a broken connection with the switch mechanism that is not allowing the switch to change the internal selection slide.
Now if the key is stuck and not returning, then the tumblers may have come apart . This would require a new key and tumbler assembly.

some of these electric interlocks require the brake pedal stepped on for releasing..have you tried that? along with shifting fully into park a few times?

IGNITION KEY WILL NOT RELEASE

It can be faulty ignition lock cylinder. I suggest to wiggle the steering wheel a bit and see if the key gets released out. If that is not helping then first turn steering wheel to right and try removing the key, or next turn steering wheel to left and see if you can remove the key.

Spray wd-40 in the ignition key hole and let it remain there for few minutes, after that once again try to remove the key and see if that helps.

But if that is not helping then ignition lock cylinder has to be removed out and key has to be manually removed.

Try moving wheel back and forth while putting key in. Or if thats not it, take a screw driver flathead and try to turn ignition both ways just a bit. Sometimes those key cylinders dont go back into the open key position. Try that as you are moving the whhel as well. but my car does the same thing in the cold, and a screw driver seems to do it every time. Good luck let me know how you make out. Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

Disconnect the battery.. Its magnetic. The transponder has gone bad in the key. May need replacing. Unless someone tried to put the wrong key in the ignition and broke the electrical contacts inside the tumbler

This is the problem with the key hole there must some object is stuck or it may activated the anti theft system you need to replace the whole unit ignition lock and the key....................
