Why wont my 2005 Grand AM not start in the cold?

If you just installed your battery the ECM needs time to boot then relearn where the idle should be as well as how much fuel to add when starting cold. Try leaving the battery in it and if it goes dead you have a drain in the electrical system if not it should work.

2000 cirrus want change gears goes in drive and reverse inside on the dash where it tells you what gear you in all has squares around them speedometer doesn't work

Sounds like a speed sensor, I will look into that, but if the speedometer isn't working, its either cable, or electronic. Being a 2000, I'm guessing electronic. Chrysler have a lot of electronics on the transmission, as they are electronic themselves. I had an alternator go bad and my battery died, and the car wouldn't shift, it actually down shifted while driving. Have your battery and alternator checked first, then sensors. Like shift silinoid, speed sensor etc.

I have a 2004 saturn l300 v6, my alternator went out, i didnt catch it until the battery had completely died, the battery is only 3 months old. just had the alternator replaced and it is now charging

have the battery charged and tested. GM alternators tend to take the battery with them when they die. A weak battery will make all the electronic stuff act strange. Make sure all the cables and connections are solid.

Loosing power

If the battery is good when it doesn't start. I would go for the ignition switch. Just the electrical end of it. There isn't a security issue when replacing it.

Hi, my 95 honda accord lsi 2.0 doesnt start, couple days ago it hardly started in cold weather, and today it just didnt started at all. Could it be a gas filter, or maybe candles, or gus pump ??..what...

Have you tried checking the battery? Try to give it a jump with another car. Cold weather kills car batteries FAST. Does the car crank over at all? Or does it just make a clicking sound without actually turning the motor? If jumping it gets it started, replace the battery and you shouldn't have any problems. Batteries typically last between 2-5 years depending on their use, if you have a lot of sick car audio and electronics pulling juice, it will cause a "deep cycle" which car batteries were not designed for and that will kill them quick too. If replacing the battery works for a while, but then it dies soon thereafter, you might need to start looking for possible short circuits or current draws. Hope this helps!
