Get it to the local AAMCO. they are experts on transmissions.

You would need transmission tools and a transmission dolly, also possibly need to lift the engine too...

AAMCO (Phx,AZ,I-17 & Dunlap) Is not my choice, ripped my warranty co. off. My Jeep TJ had rear diff let loose.Towed to AAMCO, waited full week to find they "inspected" the rear end, looked good, 5spd manual trans needed rebuilt. (at 60,000miles) TOLD them they are wrong. 2 weeks go by, they inform me of the need for a second claim on Warranty....Rear differential ring gear and pinion... Blown apart! I went 23 days w/out the truck, and got it back with Oil & Grease everywhere! Be careful!

19997 chevy 1500 transmission shiftsbut when in overdriveit seems to be cutting out wha is the problem?

try using lucas transmission oil treatment it might be the lock up clutch in the torq converter sliping. if the transmission is a 4L80 and thier is alot of miles on it the torq converter clutch usally gets a glaze build up and the lucas treatment is wonderfull for that.if the treatment didnt work then overdrive is starting to go out you need to take it to a transmission shop hope this helps

Cadilac conveter

No, the catalytic converter is part of the exhaust and under the car,it would not make any sound if it was bad.you need to have your noise checked by a mechanic, just in case its a wheel bearing,it could seize up or even catch on fire if it is a wheel bearing

Chevy Impala 2001 w/ 3.8L engine - EGR stuck open

there are a couple of things, first make sure there are not restriction in the exhaust, i know the dealer has had to replace converters under warranty because of this problem, then theres a reflesh program for the computer due to this problem, and lastly, run with egr off make sure it clean of carbon, carbon gets stuck in pintle sets check eng lightbut carbon then blows by so when you remove egr you see nothing, well start with these good luck.
