It's actually VERY unlikely for BOTH bulbs to go at the same time - sounds like you have a wiring problem (loose connector somewhere or wire trapped and abraided ...) ....
See if you can follow the wires from the light clusters across the engine compartment (will be after the two sets 'join up' since both bulbs are effected) .. if you can't find an obvious break / connectror, you will have to take it to a garage ..
(If only one light went & you changed both, did you fit the right 'wattage' bulbs ??)

Even if you could locate the correct adjuster, you will not be able to align the beam in accordance with MOT's requirements.
Only with the use of an approved Optical machine, will you be able to correctly adjust the beam of your headlights.
Unfortunately, this task is best left for the professionals only. A garage with the appropriate Optical machine can do this adjustment, for a small fee.

Hi it sounds like the switch for the lights, try tapping the switch see if they come on if not remove it and have a closer look at it. It may need replacing.
